Privacy policy
The short version: CitizenReady has no account system, no analytics and no advertising. What you type into the app stays on your iPhone.
What the app stores, and where
Your first name, your U.S. state, your answers, your progress, your streak and your mock test history are written to a local database on your device using Apple's SwiftData. They are not transmitted to us, because there is no "us" server to transmit them to.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled, that local database may be included in your device backup. Those backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
Deleting the app deletes the database with it. There is no copy anywhere else to request or erase.
What we do not collect
- The app contains no networking code at all. Nothing you do inside it leaves your iPhone, because there is nothing in the app capable of sending it.
- No account, email address or password is required to use the app.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK is embedded in the app.
- No advertising identifier is read, and no ads are served.
- No contacts, photos, location or health data is accessed.
- No data is sold, rented or shared with third parties, because none is collected in the first place.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment, receipts and renewals, and tells the app only whether an active entitlement exists. We never see your payment details, and we do not receive your Apple ID.
Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymised sales reporting through App Store Connect. That reporting does not identify individual customers.
This website
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server request logs (including IP address) for security and operations. See Vercel's own privacy documentation for their retention practices.
The site has no signup form, no newsletter and no analytics script. We do not collect your email address anywhere on it — the only address we ever hold is one you choose to write to us from.
Children
The app is intended for adults preparing for U.S. naturalisation. It is not directed at children under 13, and no personal data is knowingly collected from them.
Your rights
Under laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA you have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. In practice, the data the app holds about you is already entirely in your hands — it is on your device, editable in the app and removable by deleting it.
For any question about this policy, write to pevidios@proton.me and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — for example if a future release adds a feature that requires a server — the updated policy will be posted here with a new date before that feature ships.
